Rail Insulator

Track switches require electrical separation to avoid shorts. In the past, an air gap was provided at the frog area. Temperature changes over time can cause the rail to creep and eliminate the air gap, resulting in an electrical short. This is one of the most difficult shorts to locate because one rarely thinks to look for two rails touching each other. The RAIL INSULATOR provides the positive separation needed to assure the elimination of electrical shorts from this hidden source.
